Yoga

Matthew’s classes are suitable for those new to Yoga or those with tight muscles, with poses to develop flexibility and strength and mindfulness for relaxation.

Matthew always offers progressions, so that you can take the class at your own pace. Yoga is known for helping participants relax tight muscles, helping to develop greater movement at the joints and is also a great way of developing strength.

Yoga is an ancient spiritual practise and Matthew is happy to refer clients to workshops and classes that focus on this aspect of Yoga. In Matthew’s classes, his focus is on developing body awareness, learning how each posture feels in the body and moving mindfully in a friendly and relaxed atmosphere. Matthew is a member of the Yoga Alliance and has trained as a Hatha and Vinyasa Yoga instructor and brings this knowledge and experience to his Yoga classes.

  • All Yoga classes are drop-in: no need to book in advance
  • All fitness levels welcome, including beginners
  • Wear comfortable clothing with plenty of layers
  • £9 or £7 concessions

Pilates

Contemporary Pilates classes using the principles of Joseph’s Pilates original matt based exercises with the modern understanding of exercise science.

Matthew always offers progressions, so that you can take the class at your own pace. Pilates is known for helping participants maintain good posture by strengthening the deep muscles in the pelvis and abdomen. With a diploma in personal training and as a member of the Yoga Alliance, Matthew’s Pilates classes integrate his knowledge and experience to build a programme of exercises to work the whole body whilst aiming to keep the atmosphere fun and friendly.

Zumba®

Each Zumba® class is designed to bring people together to sweat it on.

We take the “work” out of workout, by mixing low-intensity and high-intensity moves for an interval-style, calorie-burning dance fitness party. Once the Latin and World rhythms take over, you’ll see why Zumba® classes are often called exercise in disguise. Super effective? Check. Super fun? Check and check.
